Grif calling Sarge Dad in a really sarcastic voice (“Thanks, Dad”) and Sarge going along with it (“Anytime, son”) and Simmons freaking out because he’s been trying to work up the nerve to call Sarge dad for years, literally years, and Grif just does it?

Donut picking up on the ‘calling Sarge dad’ thing and joining in because it’s so obvious, right? Sarge is their father figure! Sarge cheerily allowing this cause it’s Donut, right?

Simmons eventually mumbles a hesitant “dad” instead of sir at one point. No one says anything. Sarge carries on like it’s not a thing. Simmons is more confident the next time. Soon all three of them are calling Sarge dad half the time. No one says anything. It’s not weird at all.
